Description: We posted this project earlier this week but couldn't get this problem resolved. I have a database that has over 600,000 thousand records in this one table and growing rapidly. This table and others are updated via a cron php script we create.

The cron script update 4 main tables which are important part of the whole site. But since its grown and will grow rapidly, it takes longer to update.

I had 2 programmers look at the table design and only attempted to update cron script. Programmer 1 updated it by splitting the script into 3 script so the loop want be so long. This only worked temporary but it will not update all the records.

Programmer 2 said that there is not primary key in table so its hard to index the table to update it fast. They said it may have to update entire code so you can use a primary key to update things.

I need to get this database update so my users will be happy, also I need a long term solution that can quickly update millions or records.
